Overview

ANDY ANDERSON PRO MODEL | SKATER ENGINEERED AND DESIGNED

The Powell Andy Anderson Hydrant Flight Gold Deck 8.4 x 32 is one of the most advanced decks on the market. Thin, light and responsive Powell Flight decks are the future of deck technology. Built in Powell's Santa Barbara, California, facility, the decks are stronger, thinner and lighter than the average 7-ply deck. Flight decks allow you to extend your limits, flip faster, and do tricks with ease. Designed to last and not break in two, Flight decks are specifically manufactured to outlast any other deck on the market. Specifically designed by Andy himself, this shape gives you a full upper advantage to freestyle skating with the luxury of Flight technology for an all around ultimate performance. FREE griptape is included with the purchase of the deck.

Flight decks are:

  • Thinner - as thin as your phone
  • Lighter than a traditional 7-ply deck.
  • Stronger - more than twice as strong in our tail break tests
  • Longer lasting - The epoxy infused, fiber reinforced structure of the Flight deck is extremely resistant to breaking, and this structure gives Flight decks "everlasting pop" that doesn't fade as your Flight deck slowly wears.
  • Ollies higher because of greater rebound and snap.

Specs:

  • Andy Anderson pro model
  • Width - 8.4"
  • Length - 32"
  • Wheelbase - 14.25"

Solid board, just bought a secondPros: A fantastic all around board. It pops great, it’s light, it wears down slowly. For its size, it’s really easy to manipulate. The shape is great because you always know where your feet are. Because of all the patterns in the shape, it’s akin to the raised bumps on the “F” and “J” keys of a keyboard letting you know where your fingers are. Cons: Just one, and it might be more related to the flight construction, but it’s still way better than a standard board (I just bought another one of these boards cause its good and lasts forever). It delaminates/chips a bit on the nose/tail in a specific spot on the corner. I’ve still been skating my board for months after it first happened, so it’s not a big deal. Seen a lot of these boards with the same thing though. Diatribe: As a kid, we could only afford cheap decks, which meant the homies only bought Powell “blanks”. They were the only cheaper decks that weren’t like buying a lottery ticket: “maybe you snap your tail tomorrow, maybe in 5 months”. Got back into skating last year and have been able to afford to play around on a lot of different boards and shapes and this one is exactly what it claims to be. As an engineer, I like following Powell and love the thoughtfulness. One of my favorite things is to watch their pro team explain physics wrong, but George and team to interpret it so correctly in the construction.

Amazing Shape, Poor Graphic Quality.I loved the shape of this deck and felt like it assisted me in almost every style of skating I do, ever since they started doing these foil graphic decks I've noticed the graphics easily peel off in a flakes causing the graphic to be easily removed in the first session.
