Creature

In the early 90s, Russ Pope began Creature Skateboards. Today, Darren Navarrette runs Creature Skateboards out of NHS Distribution, resurrecting it in 2008 after it had gone under in the 90s. Creature Skateboards was created with the backing of NHS, when some riders for SMA were interested in starting something new and got on board with Pope and Creature. During the early years of Creature, guys like Barker Barrett, Jason Adams, Dorian Tucker, Darren Navarette, Ronnie Marshall, Novak, and Crazy Eddy rode. Navarette snuck into a tradeshow for three days in California many years ago, where he met Russ Pope, was invited to ride for Creature and SMA, and did. When Creature folded, Navarette went off to 151 only to eventually go back to revive Creature Skateboards, where it was all about hesh law and survival. It worked. Still does.
